Laurey Wyble Custom Builder utilizes a unique green building system that allows clients to chose which shade of green they would like their home to be. Clients can extend their package beyond the 'basic green' to include such options as geothermal heating and cooling systems, solar power, wind power, rainwater technology, gray water recycling, and other methods as they become available. According to the NAHB Model Green Home Building Guidelines; "The process of green building incorporates environmental considerations into every phase of the home building process. That means that during the design, construction, and operation of a home, energy and water efficiency, lot development, resource efficient building design and materials, indoor environmental quality, homeowner maintenance, and the home's overall impact on the environment are all taken into account." Geothermal systems get most of their energy from
the consistent temperature of the earth. In our northern climate,
the earth remains a constant 50 to 55 degrees year round. In the
wintertime, this heat is absorbed by the loop system and carried
into the geothermal furnace where it is compressed to a higher
temperature. The result is a warm and comfortable home. In the
summer time, the process is reversed. The warmth of the air in the
home is absorbed by the geothermal furnace and deposited into the
cooler earth through the loop system. The result is a cool,
dehumidified, comfortable home.
